One of the key indicators of conservation success or failure is forest cover loss. Protected areas are often islands is a 'sea' of deforestation. See these examples:

Keeping an eye on forest cover loss can really help sustain conservation. Increasingly earth observing satellites are collecting data that can be used to calculate forest cover loss but calculating it automatically on a park by park basis is fraught with difficulties.
This is where you come in. By adopting parks to monitor and checking the forest cover loss imagery annually to record the forest cover change, you can contribute to a conservation database that can help highlight parks under threat, where conservation is working and where further attention needs to be paid to making protection a reality on the ground.
