Help environmental, developmental and conservation organisations to protect parks by joining the effort to monitor parks from the comfort of your own computer.  If you know how to use a keyboard, mouse and Google Earth, you can help.  We provide annual updates of tree cover and near real time fires based on NASA satellite data.  We also  provide a set of Google-powered tools and you look out for and report changes that take place in parks.

Monitor tree cover loss annually in selected parks

Knowing where deforestation is putting parks under pressure is fundamental to efficiently targeting developmental and conservation support.  Whilst we can now use satellite imagery to provide 'early warning' of advancing deforestation fronts, the techniques for automatically defining forest loss in these images are prone to error.  Join our human-monitoring effort by keeping an eye on a patch of forest and reporting forest cover change annually.
